New members to editorial advisory board
First Impressions relies on a board of clinicians and industry experts for editorial guidance throughout the year. We wish to thank our current board members: Michael Bocian, Darby Dental Supply; Rick Cacciatore, Iowa Dental Supply; Clayton Davis, DMD, Duluth, Ga.; Nicholas Hein, DDS, Billings, Mo.; Paul Jackson, Benco Dental; Lori Paulson, National Distribution & Contracting; and Tim Sullivan, Henry Schein Dental. And we want to introduce some new members:
Brent Agran, DDS.
Dr. Agran practices general dentistry in Northbrook, Ill., and Chicago, Ill. He graduated with honors from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in May 2008 and has a bachelor’s degree in business.
Steve Desautel vice president sales and marketing, Dental Health Products Inc., New Franken, Wis. Desautel served in a variety of positions (including vice president of sales and marketing, vice president of outside sales and vendor relations, and vice president of merchandising) with Accu Bite Dental Supply, Williamston, Mich., prior to that company’s acquisition by Patterson Companies in 2006. He joined Dental Health Products Inc. in 2008 as director of marketing and business development.
Sheri Doniger, DDS.
Dr. Doniger has been in the clinical practice of dentistry for over 26 years. A former hygienist, she has also experienced other aspects of dentistry, including teaching, insurance consulting and directing a dental hygiene program. A past editor of Woman Dentist Journal, she continues her writing and research, with focus on team management, dental products and women’s dental issues.
Suzanne Kump, CDA, LDA, MBA, corporate marketing manager, Patterson Dental. Kump possesses over 30 years of dental industry experience. In her 10 years with Patterson, she has managed the Patterson AdvantageTM customer loyalty program, coordinated trade show exhibits, conducted sales training and participated in corporate round tables. Prior experience includes 12 years as a clinical dental assistant and 10 years in dental office practice management. She belongs to and manages partnerships with many dental associations.
Dawn Metcalf, sales and marketing manager, Midway Dental Supply Inc., Lakeville, Ind. Metcalf is co-owner (with her parents, Roger and Jackie; and brother, Jeff) of Midway Dental Supply. With more than 17 years experience in the dental business and growing up within the dental community, she has served in various positions within the company.
Roshan Parikh, DDS MBA
Dr. Parikh operates a practice in Olympia Fields, Ill., in the south suburbs of Chicago. A graduate of the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, he also obtained a master’s in business administration from Loyola University Chicago.
